As of January 1st, Executive Decree number 43849- MTSS came into force; establishing the minimum salaries to be paid to private sector workers, depending on their level of specialization and functions.
The general percentage increase was 6.62%. The minimum salaries established in this Decree correspond to the ordinary working day, except when it is specifically indicated that a different unit must be used. When the salary is paid per hour, the value used is the daytime hour; for the mixed and night shift, the corresponding equivalences must be made, so that they are equal to the salaries of the ordinary working day.
For the correct category location of the occupations in the salary categories of this Minimum Wage Decree, the provisions of the Occupational Profiles, which were approved by the National Wage Council and published in La Gaceta No. 233 of December 5th, 2000, must be applied.
The minimum wages established for the first semester of the year 2023 are as follows:
